Thread Lift

Thread lifts have gained popularity as a nonsurgical procedure for rejuvenating the skin and achieving a more youthful appearance. As a minimally invasive alternative to facelift surgery, they offer several benefits, such as a shorter recovery time and reduced risks. Thread lifts can be performed in-office, making the procedure more convenient and accessible for many people. The results are not permanent, which some individuals may view as an advantage, as it allows for adjustments or repeated treatments to maintain or modify the results over time.

They lift sagging skin on the face and neck and activate the body's natural healing response to stimulate collagen production. This increase in collagen helps maintain skin elasticity and firmness, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Collagen is a vital protein that offers structural support and maintains skin elasticity. Natural collagen production decreases as we age, resulting in sagging skin and wrinkles. When threads are introduced, they promote collagen synthesis, leading to firmer and smoother skin for an extended time.

How Thread Lifts Work

A thread lift can lift and contour areas of your face that may become looser due to age, genetics, or the environment. Krch AESTHETIC MEDICINE in Phoenix, AZ, is proud to offer Silhouette Instalift treatments instead of surgical facelifts. We can lift skin almost anywhere a lift is needed, such as "marionette lines" and smokers' lines around the lips.

Threads are inserted into the skin, creating a supportive structure beneath the skin's surface that lifts sagging skin and repositions underlying tissues. They dissolve in twelve to eighteen months, generating a controlled inflammatory response. This process results in skin tightening and a more toned appearance as the body heals and contracts around the Instalift threads, stimulating collagen production. This contributes to skin elasticity and enhances the overall texture and quality of the skin, leading to a more youthful, radiant complexion for up to two years.

Ideal Candidates for Thread Lift

The best candidates for thread lifts are those who would like to refresh their appearance without surgery. Thread lifts are optimal for you if you are noticing signs of aging that are still moderate. A thread lift can help with lines, wrinkles, loosening skin, and sinking or sagging in the mid and lower face. Ask Dr. Ryan about combining your thread lift with an injectable treatment, such as BOTOX®. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Ryan Krch, N.M.D., to determine if a thread lift is right for you.

Thread Lift Procedure Technique

Lift threads provide traction and gently lift the skin. After Dr. Ryan has determined which how many threads are needed for your desired results, your thread lift will be performed in our office. It is considered a minor procedure, and you will remain awake, though Dr. Ryan will likely numb your face with local anesthesia. Dr. Ryan will mark the entrance and exit spots for the threads on your face and then use a very fine needle to place the threads inside your tissue. Dr. Ryan can carefully tighten and lift your skin by gently pulling on the threads. Depending on the area (or areas) of the face being lifted, your thread lift procedure may last approximately one hour.

What to Expect from Your Thread Lift Treatment

With the thread lifts, you should be able to see your results immediately after the procedure. The full effects of twist and smooth threads will take about 90 days to transform naturally. Your skin should appear lifted and smoothed, and you can leave the office directly after your procedure to recover comfortably in your own home. There is minimal downtime after a thread lift, though you can expect some redness, soreness and bruising at the puncture points in your skin for one to two weeks.

The results of your thread lift may last for about a year or longer with appropriate preventive skin care, but you might require further treatments to keep your results. While the threads themselves dissolve over time, the benefits of the threads can persist for up to two years or more, depending on factors such as age, skin type and lifestyle.

Thread Lift Advantages Over Surgery

  1. Thread treatments are minimally invasive, requiring only small incisions or punctures in the skin. This is less traumatic to the tissue compared to more invasive procedures like facelift surgery, resulting in a shorter recovery time and less discomfort.
  2. Threads lifts are versatile. They can address various age-related concerns, including sagging skin, wrinkles and loss of volume in different areas of the face, such as the cheeks, jowls, neck and eyebrows. They can also be used for body contouring, addressing sagging skin in the arms, thighs and abdomen.
  3. Since lift threads come in various types, lengths and thicknesses, we can fully customize each treatment to each patient's unique needs and desired outcomes.
  4. The recovery time for thread lifts is typically much shorter than that of more invasive surgery. Patients can often resume normal activities within a few days, with only mild swelling or bruising at the treatment site.
  5. Since lift threads are made of a biodegradable, biocompatible material that dissolves naturally over time, it reduces the risk of complications, such as infection or scarring, compared to surgery.
  6. Thread lift procedures can be combined with other nonsurgical aesthetic treatments, such as dermal fillers, Botox and laser therapies, to enhance and prolong overall results.
